Well the first week on the Racing Weight plan is in the books and the result:
7.4 LB LOSS!!! Down to 201.4 today, and the bodyfat percentage was down from 28.1% to 26.2%!!
I am very happy about this. I know every week won't be that big of a loss, but dang it feels good. The second week usually is a lot less than the first week, if you ever watch the Biggest Loser. So I'm not expecting to lose 7+ lbs every week.
My magic number I think is around 1800 calories a day. I'm loving the www.trainingpeaks.com software. Putting everything in there isn't that much of a burden, and the tracking is totally worth it. I'm sure in time I will get used to eating the same counts, and not need the software anymore. But for now it's a big time saver!
The workouts have been great. 4 days of running, 1 day on the bike and some active rest. Saturday night I went out for a friend's going away party and consumed over 1700 calories (including 4 pints of beer and a guacomole burger). Sunday I ran 9.5 miles at a slow 6.2 mph pace to make up for the cheat meal saturday night. It all evens out.
Next week hopefully I'll break 200! Now it's time for another workout.

Wow! Congrats! That's a great result! I've also used training peaks in the past to track calories, hmmmm, maybe I should get on that. :)
Only 1,800 calories a day? AH! I'd starve!
Haha, I'm still coming down from when I was eating A LOT during marathon training so right now I'm around 2,000-2,100 calories. Trying to get back down to 1,800/day again though!
Holy cow! Nice job on tracking the calories and dropping the weight!
great job. Keep it up
Awesome job on the weight loss! I just can't seem to figure out what it is I am doing wrong. I guess it's back to the drawing board and writing down everything I eat and such..
Damn. Nice start. Keep up the good work. Cheers!
Wow - good for you! that's a huge first week loss. Way to go, man.
I need to start trackign what I eat again... i did that when I did WW and that's what I attribute my success, too. When you know you ahve ot write it down, it changed the way I ate because I'd think, "do I really want to enter this PB cup?"
Atta boy John. I swear it is 80% about tracking what you put into your mouth.
Mike
WOW! That is awesome!!
Wow congrats on a great first week! I really want to get my hands on that book after hearing great things about it from you and another friend. It sounds really beneficial.
Great job. I can't wait to see this weeks numbers. I gave you a shout out on my blog today. Keep up the good work brother.
