I smoked over a pack a day for 15 years and got really overweight. Now I'm an endurance junkie with lots of marathons, century rides, half and full ironmans, and ultramarathons under my belt. Check back often to watch the progress from smoking 26.2 cigarettes a day to running 26.2 miles, or from Iron Lung to Ironman.

Yea I know September is almost over, but it's been busy. And there is still some random stuff from the Hell month that was August that I haven't recorded for posterity here. So this should be fun. I'll get back to the Periodization & Body Composition soon.

Evil Genius started gymnastics!
She's on the bar
her selfie game is too strong. She loves that outfit
For this last one, we redid a bed next to the back door. It was a nice weekend project even if it was too hot to be out there doing that. Kelley did all of the prep work and had all of the ideas. I laid the brick and spread the mulch, she transplanted those hostas. It turned out really well, and now we have a nice place to store the trash & recycling bins.
Evil Genius finally getting in the deep end at Pullen Park Pool
Ella too! 14' deep!

And no summer Greenville time is complete without getting in the pool.
I figured I would try doing a flip off of the diving board since I've been doing flip turns in swim practice really consistently during the last year. Well, I almost made it.
We went back to visit my parents the weekend before Memorial day, and Ella ended up playing basketball the whole weekend. Kelley and I went out for a wedding on Saturday, and didn't get a picture of the two of us dressed up. But when we got back home, Ella wanted to get a basketball goal and since I loved shooting hoops when I was her age I gladly complied. Of course, my proud parenting moment was starting out by teaching them trick shots! Evil Genius was making baskets with her back to the goal and is developing a mean hook shot. The video is me hitting a shot from way across the road! it was the third time I tried that shot, and the first time that EG was shooting video. Really cool.
Here's some funny face swaps with me and the kids from back when I had the beard!

EG and my Mom might be the funniest thing ever
Mom was confused
EG makes my dad look like the North Korean President
Finally I got to put my woodworking skills to use, making a doghouse for my mother-in-law. It's not great, but I made it and it might give the dog some shelter.
I have a backlog of cute kid pics from April. Enjoy.
Picture day at school

EG watering the garden after planting
The muscadines are leafed out and the Rhoda's are in bloom! must be spring in NC
We got the garden planted - only direct seeds this year since I didn't have the chance to get any plants from Mom. We finished at sunset, so that picture of EG watering in the seeds is not a filter; it was just that dark in the front yard. I still think it's a cool shot.
The kids are getting so big! the school year is about to wrap up. Kelley and I are more excited about it than the kids are. They are ready to track out, but nervous about starting the new grades in a few months.
Got a bathroom remodel update to publish soon and a fantastic Mother's day report to come soon!
